Unique Programs available to IHS students

Navigating High School Options - this slide deck was presented to 10th and 11th grade Homerooms on Tuesday February 10, 2026, introducing students to three programs - ISD Online Learning, WANIC, and Running Start. Each program has its own application process.  Interested students will apply directly to the program, while concurrently submitting a full 7 credits of course requests at IHS in March.  Later in the application process, students will meet with their counselors to adjust their plan.

  • Interested in WANIC?  Visit the WANIC website  -- Priority Applications for the fall are open Feb 4 - March 31, apply today!  Summer WANIC details coming soon.  
  • Interested in Running Start?   Apply now, enroll later!  This is a multi-step process, take it one step at a time.
    1. You can start by applying now on the college website (apply first, meet with counselor later). Attend the college's information session (see websites for details)
    2. Attend our Running Start Info Night (zoom webinar) on Tues Feb 24th, 6:30-7:15pm (students AND caregivers should join)
    3. Visit our Running Start website for much more information.
    4. Students should access FLEX support!
      • Wednesday, 3/4: Running Start “How to Register” Presentation for Students during FLEX in the Theater – sign up in Student Support Time 
      • Wednesday, 3/11: Running Start "Q&A" Presentations for Students during FLEX in the Theater – sign up in Student Support Time 
      • Wednesday 3/25, 4/8, 4/22: Support for the Running Start Application process available during FLEX in Room 2103 (Student Support Center) 
    5. Visit the College & Career Center March-June for support applying.
    6. After your full application process is complete, you can submit a request for a counselor meeting to discuss Enrollment in April/May.
