FCCLA Wins Big at State as Three Qualify for Nationals

FCCLA went to State!

From Tuesday, March 4 through Friday, March 7, 2025, our FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) chapter attended the WA-FCCLA State Leadership Conference in Spokane.  Students competed in STAR Event competitions (think- future oriented passion projects) as well as general sessions, state and regional business meetings, keynote speakers and breakout sessions. We had a lot of fun and I am so proud of our group of students. This FCCLA chapter represented Issaquah beautifully! 

The following Issaquah High School students and staff participated in this year's conference:

Staff/Advisors- 

Sarah Orton and Cassidy Ferguson

Students-

  • Kaylene Forister- Competed in "Leadership"- Received a bronze

  • Melissa Lee- Evaluated and helped run the competition

  • Brian Kong- Competed in "Job Interview"- Received a bronze

  • Jacob Forister and Aiden Ho- Competed in "Interior Design"- Received a gold

  • Ben Meier and Sean Pawelczyk- Competed in "Sustainability Challenge"- Received a silver

  • Franceska Acosta- Competed in "Interpersonal Communication"- Received a gold

Franceska Acosta, Ben Meier and Sean Pawelczyk made it to the National Conference in Orlando, FL. in July! 

If you know these students please congratulate them, they did a wonderful job and should be proud of their accomplishments.
