Issaquah DECA’s Record-Breaking Day Sets the Stage for State

DECA Area Competition
January 9, 2025
Over 400 Issaquah DECA students went to the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue to compete against ~2,000 students from the area. We had a great day, and the students represented our school well, having another record-breaking day for our chapter. 110 students qualified for the State competition, 23 more than last year! An additional 24 students were recognized as “Finalists,” which means they had one of the top scores.
Further, one of our students, Riya Jonnala, was selected as next year’s Area 4 President! Congrats Riya!
This competition Is a huge task. We have over 400 students, and nearly 100 adult volunteers who gave their time make the event a reality. I am so appreciative of every single person who helped us.
