Boys Swim team on the podium holding a trophy

The Eagles had a stellar week in the pool to start off 2024!

They started off Thursday with a victory against the vaunted Mercer Island swim and dive team, the first in coach Laura’s 20+ year tenure as head coach. The Eagles won all three relays and freshman Owen Stauffer punched his ticket to state in the 100 backstroke.

The Eagles followed up a strong showing at the island with a more impressive feat Saturday at the Kentridge invite, taking home the 2nd place team trophy out of 42 high schools.

The Eagles started off the meet with an electric victory in the 200 medley relay, setting the fastest time recorded in the state this year and topping powerhouse O’Dea. Aaron Bell took first place in a blistering 46 mark in the 100 freestyle also recording the fastest time in the state. Harrison Li recorded his first state time, breaking the minute barrier in the 100 breaststroke. And the relay team of Li, Jae Lee, Aiden Stauffer, and Bell took second in the 400 free relay in a state qualifying time to cap off a fantastic week.
