WIDA Testing for Multilingual Learner February 3

testing

WIDA testing for Multilingual Learner (MLL) students will begin at IHS on February 3rd. Each year, students who participate in English learner programs take the ACCESS for ELLs assessment, which measures their English language knowledge and skills.

This assessment measures academic English language proficiency for students learning English in our school and across the state. Teachers use this information to help make instructional decisions for your child and to monitor their progress toward English proficiency.

Your child does not need to study for this test. The ACCESS assessment is simply an opportunity for students to demonstrate what they understand and are able to communicate in English. To help your child be ready for testing, please ensure they get plenty of sleep and eat breakfast on testing days.

If you would like to opt your child out of WIDA testing, please contact Sydney Swenson Fee: swensonfees@issaquah.wednet.edu

Be sure to select WIDA in the “Other Test” box to ensure your student is opted out of WIDA testing specifically.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Note: This test is only for students in the Multilingual Learner program. If your student is not a multilingual learner, they do not need take the test.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
