School Community Book Club Starting this Year. Join us! First meeting November 5

upcoming event

This year we’re starting a Community Book Club Issaquah High School! We’ll meet four times throughout the year to read and talk about books that connect to the real experiences of our students. Our hope is that parents and staff can come together, share ideas, and learn from one another.

Our first book is Never Enough by Jennifer Breheny Wallace. It explores the pressure of today’s “achievement culture” and the negative impact it can have on kids. We chose this book because it feels especially relevant to what many of our students are experiencing, and it gives us a chance to think about how we can support them in healthier, more balanced ways.

The book club will be led by English teacher Jen Cerasoli and Principal Erin Connolly. We’ll meet in the Issaquah High Library from 5:45 to 6:30 PM on November 5, January 28, March 18, and May 27.

For our first meeting, we hope families will have read Chapters 1 and 2 of Never Enough.

We’d love for you to join us and be part of the conversation!
