Principal Message: Your Ballot, Our School, February 10 Levy Information for Families
Dear Issaquah High School families,
As we approach February 10, Special Election Day, I want to share an update about how local levy funding supports our students and our school community.
In 2022, voters in the Issaquah School District approved three levy measures to help continue funding for programs and positions not fully paid for by the state, such as school nurses, counselors and mental health supports, special education, athletics and activities, safety and security; as well as technology and critical repairs. These funding measures help us ensure equal access to education for all our students.
If the renewal levies on the February 10 ballot are not approved, choices would need to be made about staffing, programs, supports, repairs, and services our students and families rely on.
To help families better understand the February renewal levies, the district has created a short video explaining how levy funding supports students, schools, and daily operations. We encourage you to watch and learn more.
Learn more about the renewal levies at www.isd411.org/about-us/bondsandlevies/levies-2026.
Ballot Return Reminder: Election officials are warning that mail delays could prevent ballots from being postmarked in time for the February election. If you plan to vote my mail, DO NOT USE A MAILBOX WITHIN 7-10 DAYS OF ELECTION DAY. Instead, use one of 85 secure ballot drop boxes across King County to make sure your ballot is counted.
Find drop boxes and register to vote at the King County Elections website: King County Elections webpage. https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/elections
Current Ballot Returns: As of January 29, King County Elections data shows just 6.28% of voters in our district have returned their ballots. We encourage families to return ballots early if possible, so every voice is counted.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about what the levies mean for our students and our school.
Sincerely,
Erin Connolly, Principal
